CALTHA palustris (Marsh Marigold)
CALTHA palustris (Marsh Marigold). 8"-12" tall and wide.This lovely, sweet plant is native to the northern United States and Canada. It is found in marshy areas and along stream beds. It has a clumping nature but may seed itself and form a dense ground cover in areas that are consistently moist. Lovely, heart-shaped foliage covered in yellow buttercup shaped flowers in early spring. Deer resistant.
Happiest in moist, fertile soils. Sun to part shade. Blooms early spring. Will tolerate periods of drought but will go dormant and loose its leaves. Z3-7.
